Housing staff picks Walsh for project*

"The Housing Authority of Portland announced Tuesday that -- subject to approval from its board of directors -- it will hire Walsh Construction as construction manager and general contractor to rebuild the Columbia Villa housing complex."

Although there may be no impropriety, consider these unreported and not inconsequential facts:
A) Many HAP board members and staff were contributors to Serena Cruz's last campaign for City Council.
B) Serena Cruz went so far as to lie in a candidate's debate saying she was responsible for bringing a library to Columbia Villa. No library has ever been sited or funded at Columbia Villa yet it remains in HAP's plans. Is there some sort of quid pro quo here?
C) Serena Cruz's father-in-law, Tom Walsh, and her husband's uncle, Bob Walsh, were co-founders of Walsh Construction Company. Bob is the current president.

Multnomah County Commissioner Serena Cruz's family is about to be awarded a $58 million government contract .
